What This Is About
Many AI chat websites ask for an email or account before you can type a question. Some do not. This handout lists sites you can open in a web browser and try right away—no signup, no password, no credit card.
The Easiest Places to Start
Open any of these links in your browser and start typing. You do not need an account for a basic try-out.
| Website | What You Can Do | Good to Know |
|---|---|---|
| duck.ai | Chat with several AIs, privately | Still the easiest no-account option. No email. Daily limits. Hides your identity from the AI companies. |
| chatgpt.com | Ask questions, draft text, get help | Click “Stay logged out.” About 10 messages, then a simpler mode. Not available in every country. |
| perplexity.ai | Ask a question and see sources | Basic search still works with no account. Deeper “Pro” research pushes you to sign up. |
| copilot.microsoft.com | Chat and look things up on the web | Sometimes still works without signing in. Microsoft has been asking for a login more often in 2026 — try it and see. |
| gemini.google.com | Google’s AI chat (basic text) | Guest mode on the website in some places. Not in the UK, EU, or Switzerland. Phone app usually wants a Google account. |
| huggingface.co/chat | Try open, community AI models | Often usable without login. Quality varies by which model you pick. |
| grok.com | xAI’s chatbot | You can start without an X (Twitter) account. It may ask your birth year. Signing in unlocks more. |
One-Line Picks
Use chatgpt.com and stay logged out
Try copilot.microsoft.com — but it may now ask you to sign in
Sites That Usually Ask for an Account
These are popular, but the official websites typically want an email or login before you can really use them:
Claude (claude.ai) · Meta AI · Poe · DeepSeek official chat (often asks you to sign in)
You may still reach some of these models through duck.ai. If you use the Brave web browser, its built-in Leo chat also works without an account.
1. No email is not the same as invisible. A site can still see your internet address and what you type.
2. Free tries are limited. You may get fewer messages, a simpler AI, or a daily cap.
3. Rules change. A site that works without signup today may ask for an account tomorrow. It can also differ by country.
4. Do not paste secrets. Avoid passwords, bank details, medical records, or other private information.
5. Ignore “create account” buttons if you only want a quick test. Look for “Stay logged out,” “Continue as guest,” or just type in the box.
1. Open your web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox).
2. Type one of the website addresses above.
3. Skip or close any “Sign up” pop-up if you can.
4. Type a simple question, such as “Explain compound interest in everyday words.”
5. Read the answer. If the site blocks you, try duck.ai next.
This handout is a snapshot as of September 27, 2026. Companies change their rules. When in doubt, open the site and see whether it lets you type before asking for personal details.
